From our New Executive Directors
We entered 2021 with an urgent goal: to support our communities through the devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic, and press toward a just recovery for all.
All year, we prioritized the urgent needs of our people. We distributed emergency food and connected community members to COVID testing and vaccines. We prevented evictions and fought for safe workplaces. We created supportive spaces for community members to learn English and achieve their goals.
Meanwhile, our members rose up and demanded what they needed most: government support for excluded workers, protection from eviction, safer streets, supportive school services, and more. And we won! Now, we’re paving a pathway to citizenship for millions.
Since stepping into our new roles as Co-Executive Directors this past spring, we have been humbled and determined to lead the fight for dignity and justice hand in hand with our communities. These victories in the face of so much adversity give us hope for what we can win next.
