NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Angry tenants, protesting the state Senates failure to pass stronger rent laws, staged a noon time rally Monday at City Hall Park. **
The Real Rent Reform Campaign organized the event after they say Albany Democrats broke a promise to undo rent and eviction protection laws put in place by Republicans the last two decades.
"Enough is enough were not taking it anymore," one protester announced to those at the gathering.
The rally ended when 13 protestors were arrested after they sat down in front of 250 Broadway Street, locked arms and refused police orders to move, according to 1010 WINS senior correspondent Stan Brooks.
