In 2020, workers who were denied pandemic relief and access to unemployment benefits faced an uphill battle in their campaign to win economic relief. The Fund Excluded Workers (FEW) Coalition, co-founded by Make the Road NY and partners, brought the moral crisis of exclusion to the forefront.
In 2021, workers made history and put $15,000 in the pockets of families who needed it most. In 2022, hundreds of excluded workers called for a permanent safety net–access to unemployment benefits when needed, just like the rest of the labor force.
