Today is the tenth annual National Voter Registration Day (NVRD), a special day for voter engagement efforts across the country.
We are thrilled to be part of the largest one-day effort to register voters in the US. Over the last decade, we have helped thousands of U.S. citizens in our neighborhoods across New York State in registering to vote.
As a DACA recipient who isn’t eligible to vote, I count on those eligible to make their voices heard in every election on behalf of those in our communities who can’t yet vote. The futures of our immigrant, Black, and brown communities depend on electing leaders that will fight for the respect and dignity of all of us.
That’s why today, I ask this very simple request of you. Will you register to vote or make sure your registration is up to date if you’re eligible? It would mean the world to me. Check your registration or register here!
As we get ready for the general election in November, here are some key dates to keep in mind for the upcoming weeks:
- Today! National Voter Registration Day
- Friday, October 14: Voter Registration Deadline.
- Monday, October 24: Absentee ballot request deadline (online).
- Saturday, October 29: Early Voting begins.
- Sunday, November 6: Early Voting ends.
- Monday, November 7: Absentee ballot request deadline (in person).
- Tuesday, November 8: General Election Day and Deadline to postmark your absentee ballot or drop it off at a poll site.
If you are already registered, text three of your friends, family members, & colleagues to make sure they are registered too. Together, we can empower our loved ones to have their voices heard in every election.
¡Sí se puede!
