This November, vote for respect and dignity for all!
We want to make sure you are ready to cast your ballot. This week, we launched our *NEW* Civic Action Center, where you will be able to register to vote or check your registration, find your polling place, learn about the elected officials and candidates in your area, important election dates, and more!
This year, we have faced many challenges in our organizing efforts, one of which has been not being able to talk to our neighbors in person about the importance of exercising the right to vote.
But while we can’t canvass in person during COVID to help register voters, we have been calling and texting voters across New York to remind them about the upcoming elections, including the importance of requesting their absentee ballots in time.
Some key dates to keep in mind for the upcoming weeks are:
Tuesday, September 22: National Voter Registration Day, the biggest voter registration day of the year.
Friday, October 9: Deadline to register online, by mail, and in-person to vote.
Saturday, October 24: Early Voting begins in New York and ends on Sunday, November 1st.
Tuesday, October 27: Deadline to request a ballot by mail. (Please be warned that despite this deadline, the Post Office has advised they cannot guarantee timely delivery of ballots applied for less than 15 days before an election.)
Tuesday, November 3: Election Day! Polls open from 6am until 9pm.
As we get closer to election day, we will be sending you reminders to make sure that you’re ready to vote in November for candidates whose values align with yours!
¡Sí se puede!
