In Solidarity

  • Theo Oshiro Co-Executive Director

Tuesday night’s attack on massage parlor workers in Georgia was yet another example of the xenophobia and racism that pervades this country.

This tragedy also speaks to the inherent sexist and racialized violence Asian women experience in this type of work. Their gender, labor, class, and immigration status leave them most vulnerable to acts of violence.

These shootings are the latest horrendous attack on communities of color and on human dignity. An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.

Now more than ever we must stand by our Asian and Asian American community. Read this statement and the demands from NY-based massage parlor workers.

We also invite you to join Red Canary Song’s online vigil tonight at 8 PM.
