*NEW VIDEO* Feeding the Excluded During COVID-19

  • Theo Oshiro Co-Executive Director

Six months after New York’s COVID-19 lockdown, we continue to provide emergency food—produce, nonperishables, and frozen meals—to 1,000 families each week.

Our *NEW* video, featured in City Limits, highlights our food pantry efforts as we continue our fight in calling on New York State to create a fund for excluded workers.

Make the Road NY has been running food pantries for over a decade. Shortly after the shutdown, we quickly adapted our Brooklyn and Queens food pantries to meet stringent new safety protocols, providing food via pick-up by appointment and delivery via a volunteer bike brigade to those unable to leave home.

We also started distributing food on Staten Island and in Westchester. We are exploring options to distribute food from our Long Island office as well.

Check out our new video of resilience featured in City Limits: Feeding the Excluded During COVID-19.

While we continue our organizing efforts to #MakeBillionairesPay and #FundExcludedWorkers, today we hope you enjoy this video featuring our team and volunteers.

In Solidarity,

P.S. If you are interested in volunteering in our Mutual Aid Bike Brigade Program to help us deliver food to community members at high risk in Brooklyn or Queens, please fill out the form here.
