Over one-hundred people attended a rally for immigrant children in front of the Westchester County office building in White Plains June 22, 2018. Elected officials, clergy, and others spoke out against the Trump administrations policy of forcibly separating immigrant children from their parents. The rally, organized by the Westchester Women's Agenda, concluded with a march to the Martin Luther King, Jr. statue in front of the Westchester County Courthouse. Our Housing Justice Lead Organizer’s family is featured in The New York TimesIrma and Javier Hernandez, parents of our Housing Justice Lead Organizer Jennifer Hernandez returned to Mexico in 2021 after more than three decades living in the US undocumented.

Through powerful photographs, the article highlights what life has been like for the Hernandez family since then. Families like the Hernandez family shouldn’t have to make the difficult decision to leave their children and the country they have called home for years in order to visit their loved ones.

We will continue to fight for a pathway to citizenship for the 10.2 million undocumented immigrants in this country.
