Support our continued fight for a #Recovery4All

  • Perla Silva

I have been a member at Make the Road New York for two years now. In July, 2018, when my parents were detained and placed in an ICE detention center in Buffalo. Make the Road New York was the only organization willing to take my parents’ case. They were with them every step of the way, making sure they were ok, and ultimately securing their release. I realized then that this is exactly the work I want to be involved in.
Many families like mine have been completely devastated by the pandemic and continue to be excluded from most government support. In March my mother contracted COVID and received insufficient care. It was devastating that her last words were “they don’t care about us, they put me in the corner and forgot about me.”

As part of our year end campaign we’re aiming to raise $150,000 from individual donors like you. As COVID cases surge, here and across the country, your support will enable us to provide high quality services while fighing for the protections and resources that our communities need. Will you make a year-end gift to support a #Recovery4All?

This year, Make the Road has distributed $4.4 million in cash aid to over 6,000 families, while continuing to provide critical services to tens of thousands more. At the same time, we are organizing to ensure that our government steps in to provide a recovery for all that ensures dignity and justice for our communities. Donate now to support this fight.

Thank you!
