Today’s general election will come down to the wire. VOTE!

  • Arlenis Morel Co-Executive Director

It’s election day! If you haven’t already voted early, today is the day to head to the polls or drop off your early mail/absentee ballot.

Today’s election will have a critical impact on our fights for respect and dignity of immigrant, Black, and brown communities. We urge that everyone eligible and registered make their voices heard at the polls on behalf of those in our community who can’t. New York voters will decide who will represent us for President, Congress, New York State Senate, and Assembly. If you’re not sure who is on the ballot, check out Who’s On The Ballot now to find out.

Voters also have an opportunity to make critical decisions that will affect the lives of everyday New Yorkers through six ballot measures that are on the back of the ballot this year.

We are urging all New York voters to vote YES on Proposition 1, the Equal Rights Amendment. And If you live in New York City, we are also urging you to vote NO on Propositions 2-6 and block Mayor Adams’ power grab.

These elections will come down to the wire, and your vote can really make the difference. Make sure you have a plan to vote today! There are several factors you’ll want to pay attention to when creating your Election Day plan:

  • WHERE is your local polling location? Find it in New York City or Upstate/Long Island.
  • HOW will you get to your local polling site? Will you walk, bike, take the bus, or drive?
  • WHEN will you vote? Schedule ahead of time to avoid time conflicts. The polls are open until 9 PM!

Finally, once you’ve voted, please text or call three of your friends or loved ones to make sure they vote, too!

Thank you for all your support, and thank you for voting for respect and dignity today.
