VICTORY! Supreme Court decision keeps DACA in place!

  • Deborah L. Axt Board Member

We won!

The Supreme Court just ruled that the Trump administration did not have the authority to end DACA. This program provides protection to more than 700,000 young people in this country, and enables them to work, study and pursue their dreams.

DACA recipients and their families are breathing a sigh of relief today. They have been living with immense uncertainty since the Trump administration cruelly attempted to cancel this program almost three years ago, and as they awaited the court’s decision amidst this pandemic.

Immigrant youth led this fight. Will you donate in honor of their perseverance and power today?

Our member Martin Batalla was the lead plaintiff in this case, and this historic decision bears his name. We wish we could be together to celebrate today with him and with all of the brave plaintiffs in the case.

DACA recipients from across our organization have led this fight alongside partners from across the country and the Home is Here coalition. Our lawyers poured their souls into this case and into the thousands of DACA renewals that they have filed as the program hung in the balance.

Donate in honor of these plaintiffs and their three year fight through federal court!

Tomorrow, as we celebrate Juneteenth, we will continue to fight for the freedom to move and freedom to thrive for all Black and Brown people and immigrants in this country.

In awe and solidarity,
