We have six amazing runners who have been training for months to represent Make the Road NY in the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon!

They have not only been preparing to run the marathon—taking place this Sunday, November 6th—but also fundraising to support our work!

Natalia Aristizabal, our amazing Deputy Director, who has been part of this organization since 2005.

Chris Torres, an ally who is running with us because of his long time commitment and appreciation for Make the Road New York.

Paulette Soltani, who organized with us during our carwashero campaign shares “I am so inspired by MRNY members and staff, and I am honored to run with Team MRNY!”

Megan Spurell, recounts her personal story and her time as an adult education volunteer: “I am passionate about the work MRNY does and know I can use my firsthand experience to vouch for the organization and its crucial efforts while fundraising.”

Henry Urrunaga Diaz, shares: “I’m an immigrant myself. When I needed legal help with my residence process, I was able to contact Make the Road’s legal team for support. I want to make it possible for others to continue to do the same.”

Cindy Escobar, an avid runner who used to be part of our staff, is now in law school and continuing to support our work through the marathon.
