Citizenship Through English at Make the Road New York

Prepare adult immigrants for the citizenship exam through civics review and English Conversation. Spanish speakers are especially needed, but this skill is not required. This project is a weekly, multi-session commitment from April 10 until June 12.

Established in 1997 (renamed in 2007) Make the Road New York (MRNY) promotes equal rights and economic and political opportunity; with an emphasis on leadership development. MRNY confronts inequity and economic injustice through its innovative programs and impact areas that are catalysts for change (e.g., expanding civil rights and civic engagement; fostering environmental justice). MRNY is member-led (over 7000) and based in the low-income, predominantly Latino communities of Bushwick, Brooklyn; Jackson Heights, Queens; and Port Richmond, Staten, Island.
