1st Assembly of the indigenous peoples from Latinoamerica living in NY

December 18, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

From our allies: The pandemic caused by the COVID19 virus demonstrated the racism and discrimination that exists against indigenous immigrant people in NYC, especially against those who speak an indigenous language. We have had to work and expose ourselves more than ever, receiving less pay. Many of our people died because they did not know the information in their language or because they did not have enough government support to prevent the disease. Many of our people do not have information in their language or support to prevent eviction for falling behind in rent. Many of our people have been recently run over or killed without justice doing anything.
To end this night of tragedy and to work for a new day of justice, we invite indigenous immigrant families, groups, communities and their allies to participate in an Assembly where we will discuss these issues and the fight for justice to be done.
