Affordable for Who?
On Monday, February 4, Staten Island faith and community leaders come together to demand Borough President Jimmy Oddo reject the Bay Street Rezoning Proposal.
Staten Island leaders criticize the zoning framework as one that has not taken the voices of Staten Islanders into consideration. Local leaders have consistently called for deeper affordability, tenant displacement services, investments in transportation and infrastructure and guaranteed jobs for locals. Local leaders will call on BP Jimmy Oddo to follow the lead Community Board 1 whom issued a “NO” vote on January 8th.
The city’s current zoning proposal will not keep the North Shore affordable for Staten Island families.
