Thousands of New Yorkers are sleeping in the streets or live in shelters, while thousands more are bound to lose their home because of the poor existing tenant protections. In order to spike up rents, harassment and evictions have become the landlord’s favorite tactics. This just provokes higher displacement rates of low-income tenants and tenants of color. This is unacceptable!
