It’s officially summer—we’re out and so are the police. Know Your Rights!
On July 31st, 2019, we are co-hosting a youth-focused Know Your Rights training to teach young people about their rights during street encounters with the NYPD.
Young people will be able to understand terms such as Stop, Frisk, Reasonable Suspicion, Probable Cause, Rights, Discretion, Search, and Right to Reality, as well as understand how the Right to Know Act supports their safety during encounters. Knowing your rights and using this information is a step towards changing unfair and abusive policing.
