On the evening of June 30th, the City Council and mayor passed a NYC budget that failed to defund the police by at least $1 BILLION dollars, and that failed to remove police out of schools in our city.
Not only did they fail to defund, but they failed to reinvest money back into our neighborhoods the way members have been demanding. Our communities don’t consider this a victory.
