On Wednesday, City Council is holding a hearing to look into how this bad deal for New York was made behind closed doors. At a time when our transit system is falling apart, when our city is facing a crisis in affordability, and when immigrants and workers are under attack, New York City cannot afford this deal.
Amazon in NYC will further gentrify Queens and add more stress to our failing infrastructure. At a time when our communities need and deserve more public resources in order to thrive, we refuse to give our dollars to a company whose working conditions frequently put workers’ lives in danger and that works with ICE to target immigrant communities.
