The Race for Mayor 2021: Addressing Equity in Health Care During COVID-19 and Beyond

The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed deeply unequal health outcomes and access to quality health care for low-income New Yorkers and communities of color. Even before the pandemic, 60 percent of New York City residents said they faced a health care affordability burden in the prior year. How can New York City’s next mayor expand health coverage and access to quality care, protect consumers, and strengthen the city’s health care infrastructure?
