On Monday, February 24, a transgender woman, Neulisa Luciano Ruiz, better known as Alexa, was shot and killed in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico.
She was killed hours after someone called police to report that Ruiz was using the women’s bathroom at a McDonald’s restaurant. This incident of transphobia is one of far too many in the trans community. Transphobia kills!
On Monday, March 2, the trans community is coming together to hold a vigil for Alexa and demand an end to trans violence. Not one more!
