Andrew Friedman, co-founder of Make the Road by Walking, was awarded $125,000 by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for his crusade to help immigrants improve their communities and to get better health and human services.
Of that, $105,00 will go to the program and $20,000 is for personal use. Friedman is one of 10 honorees across the country. Make the Road by Walking was created in Bushwick 10 years ago to work with residents to make improvements in their neighborhoods.
