Lawsuit Against Local Employers Alleges Widespread Labor Law Violations: No Overtime, Paid as Little as $1.25 an Hour

For Immediate Release:

Latino workers to announce the filing of a federal lawsuit
and to protest exploitative restaurant that owes its workers more than half a
million dollars in illegally withheld wages!

The lawsuit against Adriatic Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria
alleges widespread labor law violations, including paying workers as little as
$1.25 per hour with no overtime pay, or $120 for an 80 hour work week.

What:  Scores of
members of the organization Make the Road New York will chant and
carry signs and banners.
The rally
will take place in front of the restaurant where labor abuses have occurred.  Marchers will encourage
community members to refrain from patronizing restaurants that violate labor law.

Who:    4 long-time former Adriatic workers and Make
the Road New York, a grassroots
membership organization of low-income New Yorkers.
