National Day of Action for Occupy Wall Street

NEW YORK—On Thursday, the two-month anniversary of Occupy Wall Street’s inception, protesters will unite under the banner of “the 99 percent” for a National Day of Action.

Members of prominent Latino organizations like Make the Road New York and Sen. Gustavo Rivera and Councilwoman Melissa Mark-Viverito called on the Latino community of New York to join the action from the steps of City Hall on Wednesday.

The main event will start at 5 p.m. in Foley Square.

The Facebook page for the event showed nearly 2,500 attendees and declared, “Out of the Parks and Into the Streets,” referring to the removal of protesters from Zuccotti Park on Tuesday.

The occupiers are hosting the National Day of Action to “take our city back,” and “declare an economic emergency,” according to the event description.
