PORT RICHMOND (WABC) — A group of people in Staten Island came together to bang drums and wave flags during a rally against violence and hate.
Members of the group "Make the Road New York" marched in Port Richmond Wednesday night.
The city has seen a series of hate crimes targeting Hispanic men in recent months.
The march follows Tuesday night’s stepped up police presence on horseback, foot patrol and cruiser.
The show or force is meant to reassure residents that have been frightened by the spike in crime.
