Religious
leaders and Latino workers hit the suburbs to condemn workplace abuses
and widespread exploitation of immigrant workers at Associated
Supermarkets!


Protesters
will condemn the CEO of Associated Food Stores for failing to crack
down on lawless stores, failing to punish labor law violations and
failing to disaffiliate the Associated name from stores found to have
violated labor law.


Some elderly immigrant employees worked up to thirteen hours per day for as little as $16!Workers’ attorneys estimate that workers are owed over $2 million in illegally withheld wages!


The
Attorney General is currently investigating labor violations at
numerous Associated Supermarkets and their parent corporation.


What:

Reverend David Dyson, Clergy from St. Joseph’s Church in Bushwick, scores of Latino workers, consumers, and congregants and their children will chant and carry signs.


Who:

Make the Road by Walking, a grassroots membership

organization of low-income New Yorkers.
