Sandy help fair scheduled for Wednesday on Staten Island

The Staten Island Community and Interfaith Long-Term Recovery Organization is hosting a Sandy help fair on Wednesday.

The event, from 2 to 7 p.m. at St. Christopher’s Church Community Center at 136 Midland Ave., Grant City, will include advice from disaster case managers and workers from Catholic Charities, Lutheran Social Services, Northfield Community LDC, and Center for the Independence of the Disabled, New York.

“An attorney from Make the Road New York will be present to offer free legal advice. American Red Cross and FEMA representatives will be there to answer your questions,” said Karen Jackson, disaster recovery coordinator for Project Hospitality.

“This is a great opportunity for Sandy-impacted residents to connect to disaster case management and learn about how to access resources and recovery information,” she added.

A meeting of the Long-Term Recovery Organization will follow the help fair.
