Brooklyn is being represented in the nation’s capitol as thousands of people push lawmakers for meaningful immigration reform.
Five hundred members of the pro-immigration group Make the Road New York departed Bushwick, Queens, Staten Island and Long Island today to make their voices heard during a national rally in Washington, D.C.
There are an estimated 11 million immigrants in the U.S. who either overstayed their visas or who entered the country illegally, and protesters want Congress to provide a path to citizenship.
