It’s not just MMA that people are fighting for this legislative session.
Hundreds of people rallied inside the Capitol on Monday, calling for a minimum wage increase.
They delivered a petition to the governor asking him to raise the wage to $15 an hour.
The governor supports a minimum wage increase, but only from the current 8.75 to $10.50 an hour statewide, and 11.50 in New York City.
Most New Yorkers agree that the minimum wage should be increased to at least $10.50 an hour.
According to a new Siena poll, 20 percent support Governor Cuomo’s plan.
There are 52 who percent support the Assembly’s plan to raise it to $10.50 now, with provisions to go higher.
There are 26 percent who support the Senate’s plan to keep the minimum wage at $9 an hour.
