Immigration Equality, Make the Road New York, and DRM Action Coalition, held a press conference in front of Senator Schumer’s New York City offices. Leaders of the organizations were unwavering in their commitment for the inclusion of LGBT families in immigration reform. At the press conference, families who are personally affected by this discrimination along with organizational leaders urged Senator Schumer to publicly commit to voting “YES”. Yes to the Uniting American Families Act as an amendment to the senate immigration bill in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
