NEW YORK – Community activists, [members of Make the Road New York], lawmakers and residents across the city are calling for more help in recovering from Hurricane Sandy.
City Councilwoman Letitia James (WF-District 35) joined the group, which protested today at City Hall in Manhattan. Homeowners say they’re plagued with mold, no heat and broken trash compactors.
“We should all think like New Yorkers and address the need immediately,” says James.
Residents say the city needs to have a better plan in place during emergencies and that additional aid is needed to rebuild.
