🏳️‍⚧️Trans Day of Remembrance. Join us in Queens this Saturday.

  • Mateo Guerrero-Tabares Trans Justice and Leadership Program Manager
  • Bianey Garcia LGBTQ Organizer

Transgender Day of Remembrance commemorates the transgender and nonbinary siblings we have lost due to hate and transphobia.

To date in 2021, we have lost at least 46 members of our community across the United States, making it the deadliest year on record. This is outrageous, and we demand action from our allies.

Watch our vigil to honor and remember our siblings lost to hate and transphobia.

We will call for an end to the epidemic of state and community violence against our TGNCIQ+ (transgender, gender non-conforming, intersex, and queer) communities. At Make the Road NY alone, we have registered 34 cases of violence against TGNCIQ+ Queens residents in the last four years. Together we say: Not one more!

This date is recognized in many different countries as a day to mourn and honor those we have lost, but also as a day to take action and renew our commitment to protect each other, particularly trans women of color.

Watch our vigil from Saturday November 20th at 6 PM at Corona Plaza, Queens, NYC.
