Community Group to Release Report Revealing Widespread Labor Violations At Well-Known New York Restaurants

Workers to Rally in Front of Restaurant that Owes Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars and to Speak About Being Paid as Little as $1.53 an Hour for Years.

WHAT: Press conference and rally to release report entitled, "Restaurant Workers in Crisis" highlighting widespread illegal practices in New York City’s restaurant industry.  The report details some of the most egregious examples of the illegal employment practices in well-known New York restaurants. The report also makes policy recommendations for legislation and administrative changes that the city, state and federal government can take to improve conditions in the industry.

Workers will gather and speak in front of restaurant that owes hundreds of thousands to them in unpaid wages and overtime for cleaning and making deliveries during different periods beginning in 1991 through 2008.
