Asthmatics to Flood Mold Taskforce Hearing

Large Numbers of Asthmatics to Attend Mold Hearing Urging Taskforce to Recommend Strengthening City and State Mold Regulations

Wearing
protective masks, waving inhalers, and carrying signs that say, "Mold
is Killing Our Community" asthmatic Latino and African-American will
speak out about how mold and asthma disproportionately effect
communities of color

What:        Press conference to urge New York State Mold Taskforce
to recommend that State and City agencies adopt enforceable guidelines
around mold. Asthmatic tenants call on the taskforce to recommend that
the State and City adopt enforceable guidelines for safe remediation of
mold problems, better training for city and state employees in agencies
responsible for inspection and remediation, and greater education and
outreach about indoor asthma risks.

Who:           Asthmatic members of Make the Road New York, We Act, and the Fifth Avenue
                   Committee

When:         Tuesday, July 8th at 11 AM

Where:        NYSDOH Office, 217 Broadway, near corner with Park Row.
