We are thrilled to launch “Casita,” a manual for asylum seekers who have arrived in New York City.
At a time when migrants are arriving and settling in the City, the manual aims to welcome, provide information and essential resources for their daily life, and guide them to access services, regardless of immigration status, and more.
This 60-page Spanish-language manual contains the most up-to-date information on different issues, such as:
- Knowing your basic rights as a person living in New York;
- How to access available services and benefits;
- Resources for immigrants with immigration cases pending, and your rights if you interact with ICE agents; and
- Flyers and additional information on how to protect yourself from COVID-19, enroll in public school, and more.
While we distribute this resource guide to help recently arrived migrants navigate and settle in their new homes, we continue to demand that the city invest resources to welcome and provide for new arrivals.
In solidarity,
